How did you get started and what’s your favorite part of working in property management?
I started in real estate 10 years ago, after coming from banking. It has always interested me. My favorite part of property management is meeting all different kinds of people from different places and a wide variety of walks of life.
What’s one piece of advice you always give to property owners?
Keep up with your books, if you have multiple properties and you get behind, it’s difficult to go back and catch up.
What are your top 3 local Waco recommendations?
- Spice Village
- The Zoo
- Waco Hippodrome
What’s your favorite thing about working and living in Waco?
You can get anywhere in 15 minutes or less, but still has everything you could need!
What’s the best local event or festival in Waco that you look forward to every year?
I enjoy the Heart O’ Texas Fair & Rodeo.
What do you think sets TBPM services apart from others in the Waco area?
We can do everything in house. We very rarely have to use outside vendors to get things done, which means things get done quicker and are less expensive.
What’s a common misconception about property management, and how do you address it?
Many tenants think property management is making the decisions, when in reality it’s the owner of the property and we are just the “middle man”. We usually have to explain that the owner makes the decisions and we just implement them.
What do you think will be the biggest challenge for property owners in the next 5 years? How can they address it?
I am hoping people can purchase homes again! Rentals will always be needed, it may just be for a different type of clientele. Owners can consider selling their rental properties to current tenants or selling it outright.
What do you find most rewarding about helping property owners and tenants?
I love when we have a happy tenant and happy owner. When both parties are happy, it is rewarding!
If you could own property anywhere in the world, where would you want to purchase?
Costa Rica
