This month, we’re shining a light on one of the friendly faces behind Turner Brothers Property Management—Carissa Griffith, a seasoned real estate pro with nearly a decade of experience and a passion for helping people find their perfect place. After moving to Whitney and stepping into a leasing agent role, Carissa quickly discovered a love for the people-centered world of property management.

How did you get started and what’s your favorite part of working in property management?

I’ve had my real estate license for nearly 10 years. After moving to Whitney, I applied for a leasing agent position—and I’ve loved it ever since. Showing properties and meeting new people is one of the best parts of the job for me.

What’s one piece of advice you always give to property owners?

Educate yourself fully on the process, use technology to make your life easier, and always treat tenants with respect.

What’s your favorite thing about working and living in Waco?

I actually live in Whitney, while working in Waco, but I love how everything is so close and there are lots of events and different activities to do.

I love the Fair & Rodeo.

What’s a common misconception about property management, and how do you address it?

Some property owners think managing it all themselves is practical—but in reality, it involves much more than expected, like collecting rent, handling make-readies, dealing with evictions, and coordinating maintenance issues.

What do you find most rewarding about helping property owners and tenants?

It means a lot that our clients trust us to manage and rent their properties with care and professionalism.
